Air Charter to the British Open with Le Bas International by private jet or helicopter!
The Open Championship, often referred to as The Open or the British Open, is the oldest of the four major championships in professional golf. Held since 1860 in the United Kingdom, it is administered by The R&A and is the only major outside the United States. The 147th Open is currently the third major of the year, between the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship and is scheduled July 15-22, 2018 in Carnoustie. The current champion is Jordan Spieth, who won the 146th Open at Royal Birkdale in 2017 with a score of 268.
Since 1860, The Open has been played over some of the world’s most cherished links courses and has produced a remarkable legacy of great champions. It is the oldest and most international championship in professional golf and the Claret Jug – first presented in 1873 – is one of the most iconic trophies in all of sport.
From earlier greats such as Harry Vardon, Bobby Jones, Henry Cotton and Walter Hagen through modern legends such as Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson, Gary Player and Seve Ballesteros to exceptional talents of today Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Rory McIlroy, the greatest players in the world have faced the unrelenting challenge of The Open for more than 150 years.
147th Open at Carnoustie
Host venue of The 147th Open in 2018. With its thick rough and devilish bunkers, Carnoustie is known as one of the world’s most challenging links courses. Golf has been played at Carnoustie since the early 16th century, and in that time the links have earned a well-deserved reputation as one of the toughest golf destinations in the world. It’s not just the strong winds which blow along this exposed stretch of the Angus coast; nor the bunkering, which is perfectly positioned to capture anything less than a top-quality shot; but it is also a very long, narrow golf course that, at 7,421 yards, is the longest of any of the Open venues.
